The Program

The busy season is over and the weather is chilly. Do you know what that means? It's time for the Adult Winter Reading Program at Patmos Library. This year's program will work similar to last years, but expanded to include not only new mini-prizes, but new grand-prize baskets as well.

The Rules

If you didn't participate last year (or need a quick refresher), the setup is fairly simple. For every book you read (or listen to), you earn one Winter Reading scratch off ticket. These scratch off tickets entitle you to an instant mini-prize and a entry into a grand-prize raffle. The grand-prizes are divided among four different "baskets," with the winner of each basket winning all the items for the particular basket. For example, Basket number four will contain eight different items and whoever wins the raffle for basket four will win all eight of these items. Because you earn an entry for every book you read, it is possible to enter into grand-prize drawings more than once. That being said, you may only win one grand-prize basket. The drawings for the grand-prize baskets will be done on March 21st and the winners will be contacted shortly after. 

Besides for reading (or listening) to a book, there are a few ways to earn extra prizes and raffle tickets. Attending any Adult program at Patmos Library during the duration of the Adult Winter Reading Program will earn you one scratch off ticket. Likewise, finishing a book from the Adult fiction or non-fiction display tables will earn you an extra scratch off ticket.

You can sign up and log your books either in-person or online. If you are logging your books online and need scratch off tickets for the books that you have completed, ask any of us at the front counter and we can get you all setup!
